Genocide Risk Reporting Bill 2024: Establishes a mandatory genocide risk supply chain disclosure regime for Commonwealth entities and Australian businesses involved in manufacturing and supplying weapons. It also proposes the creation of an Anti-Genocide Commissioner to support compliance.
Treasury Laws Amendment (Divesting from Illegal Israeli Settlements) Bill 2024: Prohibits financial investments from Australia’s sovereign wealth fund in companies operating in illegal Israeli settlements and restricts Australian registered charities from funding such companies, referencing the UN Database of these entities.
Defence Trade Controls Amendment (Genocide, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity) Bill 2024: Amends existing laws to prohibit the export of military goods that could contribute to serious violations of international law, including genocide, and ensures such activities are excluded from permit-free arrangements.
